“I invite all Christians, everywhere, at this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ, or at least an openness to letting him encounter them; I ask all of you to do this unfailingly each day. No one should think that this invitation is not meant for him or her, since “no one is excluded from the joy brought by the Lord”. The Lord does not disappoint those who take this risk; whenever we take a step towards Jesus, we come to realize that he is already there, waiting for us with open arms.”

We are excited to announce our upcoming plan for family faith formation at Saint Michael Parish. This spring, Father Dinovo has inspired the faithful of Saint Michael’s by preaching the mission of the Catholic Church, specifically the mission of Saint Michael’s, and proclaiming the gospel with new vigor through his vision Our Faith, Our Mission.
We have been inspired through Our Faith, Our Mission and through Saint John Paul II teaching to align our program to reflect the integral importance of parent and family life in catechesis
Saint John Paul II states, “Family Catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches all other forms of catechesis.” Through reflection on our current programming, we have determined that our current program concentrates mostly on the children’s faith formation than the family. In response, we are aligning our programming to focusing catechesis on the entire family and honoring and supporting parents as the first catechists of their children.
The goal of our Faith Formation programming is to support and empower families to be active missionary disciples within their home, school, and parish through faith formation, prayer, and community.
Faith Formation Classes will be from 6:15-7: 30 pm on Mondays.
Beginning on September 16th
On the first Faith Formation Class of each month, we will be having a Family Catechesis night. The format of the night will be catechetical teaching on God’s Plan of Salvation, with K-5th, 6-8th, and parent sessions teaching the same subjects at different levels. Then, all the families will gather together for prayer, worship, and adoration.
On the following weeks of Faith Formation Class, the teaching will be related to the teaching taught on Family Catechesis nights. All of Faith Formation class will be learning the same content at age-appropriate levels with appropriate grade-level activities.
Please fill out registration as soon as possible, but the deadline will be by September 1st.
Payment information is included in the Google Form.
Additionally, if you would like to volunteer as a Catechist, Aide, or Hall Monitor for the 2019-2020 year, please let me know!
