More About American Heritage Girls:

Troop Meetings:
Meetings will take place on the second Tuesday of every month beginning in October and running through the school year.  Our final meeting will be in May and we will cap our year by participating in the Worthington Memorial Day Parade.  Meetings will take place in the cafeteria beneath the church and will last from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.
Troop Board:
This year’s board members are as follows:
Katelyn Adams – Troop Coordinator
Samantha Voytovich – Vice Coordinator
Kelly Dunsky – Troop Treasurer
Shannon Rechnitzer – Troop Shephard

Any of our board members can assist you with questions about our troop, registration, scheduling or volunteering.
Troop Culture:
It is our firm desire that this troop will be a blessing both to the girls who join as well as to their families and community.  In this first year we are asking that one or both parents remain present in the church building during our monthly meetings.  We feel strongly that having a firm grasp and witnessing firsthand the work your daughter(s) is doing will result in wonderful conversations, growth in your faith and a unique bonding experience.  You are not required to be directly hands-on with the meeting but we would appreciate you staying in the building – even if that is to spend time with Our Lord in Adoration.
Monetary Investment:
There are two types of dues to participate in AHG:
  1. Dues paid directly to AHG as program fees.  These are $40 per participating daughter (with a sister cap of $105 maximum) and are payable directly to AHG via their website at the time of registration.
  2. Dues paid to St. Michael Troop #OH1247.  There are $25 per participating daughter and payable directly to the parish identifying the fee as AHG troop dues.  These dues will cover the cost of materials for meetings, badges, charter fees, etc.
Participating girls will also need to purchase uniforms and a workbook appropriate to their troop level.  All of this can be ordered via the AHG website once your registration is complete.

*PLEASE NOTE:  If any of these fees, dues or uniform cost create a burden for your family, please reach out so that we can discuss how our troop can best support and walk alongside your family.  Our troop is for every young lady who wishes to grow in virtue, leadership and love for the Lord, regardless of her financial situation.

Volunteer Opportunities:
There are two types of volunteer opportunities and we will be so grateful for all the support we can get – especially in this first year as we get our program off the ground!
  1. Hands-on Troop Volunteers – We are in need of several volunteers to serve as unit leaders.  Unit leaders will be responsible for the hands-on guidance of each unit level at the monthly meetings.  They will guide the badge work for that night, oversee the unit operation, supervise the girls in that unit and support the overall troop.  These volunteers will need to register with AHG and undergo a background check, they will also need to be Protecting God’s Children certified as required by the Diocese.
  2. Administrative Volunteers – We will also be seeking volunteers to help us plan and coordinate both service and family fun activities in addition to fundraisers.  Something that is unique to AHG is that our troop gets to keep 100% of our profits from any fundraisers we do.  This money will be invested directly back into our troop!
