What is Confirmation?
Through the Sacrament of Confirmation we renew our baptismal promises and receive in a new way the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Confirmation preparation is a two year program typically for students who are in 7th and 8th grade. It is expected that children participate in our Family Faith Formation to prepare for this sacrament; the Religious Education curriculum at St. Michael School is also designed to prepare 8th graders for Confirmation. Adults wishing to be confirmed prepare for this sacrament through RCIA.
“Remember, then, that you received a spiritual seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear. Keep safe what you received. God the Father sealed you, Christ the Lord strengthened you and sent the Spirit into your hearts as the pledge of what is to come.”
—St. Ambrose
