Principal, St. Michael School

Sr. John Paul, O.P., is the principal of St. Michael’s School. She is grateful to serve in response to the Most Reverend Frederick F. Campbell's 2011 invitation to the Dominican Sisters of Mary to come to the Diocese of Columbus to teach and administer St. Michael School. Since then, several Sisters have joined the staff annually, educating and forming the young people in the Faith. The Sisters are continuing the tradition of Dominicans educating and witnessing to the vocation of religious life in Ohio, which dates back to the 19th century. They encourage all to respond to the universal vocation to holiness through a life of virtue, especially through the Disciple of Christ-Education in Virtue® faith curriculum taught at St. Michael School.

Sr. John Paul completed her double major in Humanities and Catholic Culture and Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. She obtained her Masters in Sacred Theology from the International Theological Institute in Austria, and subsequently studied at the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in Washington, D.C. After entering the Dominican Sisters of Mary in 2000, Sister completed her teaching certification from Eastern Michigan University and obtained her Masters in Educational Administration. Sister holds a professional principal license from the State of Ohio’s Department of Education. Her experience includes teaching at the elementary and secondary school levels, and she has also worked in the areas of non-profit, mission advancement, technology and education.
